Terms of Service: CoastalCode
Last updated: 20 October 2026
These terms apply to businesses ("you", "the client") that use CoastalCode's chat assistant on their website, WhatsApp number, Facebook Page or Instagram account. They are provided by RIBAUDO TOMMASO, trading as CoastalCode ("we", "us"), Calle atras hotel arena blanca, Playa Chiquita, Cahuita, Limón, 70403, Costa Rica. Phone: +506 6133 0624. Questions: sales@coastalcode.dev.
1. The service
CoastalCode sets up a chat assistant for your business. It answers your visitors' and customers' questions on your website, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Instagram Direct, using only the information published on your own website and a short list of rules agreed with you. It tells people it is an AI assistant, keeps each conversation so you can read it and take it over at any time (the assistant pauses when a person from your business replies), and emails you a copy of each conversation. It does not take bookings or payments and does not send marketing or broadcast messages.
We build and run the assistant; you stay in charge of what it says about your business.
2. What you are responsible for
- Your website and rules. The assistant answers from what is published on your website. You are responsible for it being accurate and up to date, and for the rules and contact details you give us.
- Your channels. You must be allowed to use the website, WhatsApp number, Facebook Page or Instagram account you connect, and you must follow the terms of Meta and of any other platform involved.
- Your customers' data. You decide why you talk to your customers and are responsible for having a lawful basis for it. We process their messages on your behalf as described in our privacy policy.
- Checking its answers. The assistant can be wrong. It is not a substitute for your own staff for anything where a mistake would cause harm, such as medical, legal, safety or financial advice.
3. Acceptable use
You must not use the service to send spam or unsolicited messages, to deceive or harass people, to collect sensitive data such as payment card numbers or passwords, to break the law, or to break the rules of Meta or any other platform. We may suspend a connection that does, and we may suspend one the platform restricts.
4. Third parties
The service depends on others, including Meta, OpenAI, Supabase, Vercel, Resend and Sentry. We are not responsible for their outages or for changes to their terms, prices or features, although we will tell you if a change affects you.
5. Availability
We aim to keep the assistant running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve the service.
6. Fees
Fees, if any, are those agreed with you in writing. Charges made by Meta, OpenAI or other providers for your channels or usage are separate unless we agree otherwise.
7. Your data
Your website content and your customers' conversations stay yours. We use them only to run the service for you, as described in the privacy policy. Each client's data is kept separate from every other client's. When you ask us to, or when the assistant is permanently removed, we delete your conversations, subject to the privacy policy.
8. Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profit or lost bookings, or for what the assistant says or fails to say, and our total liability for anything arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the event. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
9. Ending
You can stop using the service at any time by telling us. We may end or suspend it if you break these terms or the platforms' rules, or on reasonable notice. On ending, we delete the assistant's connections to your channels and, on request, your conversations.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will place the new version at the same address. If a change is significant, we will tell clients by email.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica, and the courts of Costa Rica have jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to go to the courts where you live.
